Carlie walked in a slow pace towards the Torchwood 3 hub, no sun in the sky, and the cold clinging to her. She was early. Carlie had been in shock, when her alarm, unexpectedly went off, like an hour early. She had no idea why it had gone off. She couldn’t blame any one since she lived with no one, and no one had a key to her apartment. She frowned just thinking about it, she can’t have bumped it, as she never had to walk by it at all. She hopped onto the invisible elevator, a name Jack had thought of, by the sounds of things, as Carlie was very new. She had never thought of asking Jack, why certain things do what they do, or what happens to the Torchwood members. It hadn’t really occurred to her as a main point, as she signed up, and when she thought about it, she thought it she just shook it away, like a bad nightmare. Though she had never had much luck shaking away bad nightmares, when she had one. As the elevator reached a safe height for her to get off, she looked around the hub. She wasn’t like Jack or Kas who jumped off at a certain height cause they can. She was more careful, knowing she would most likely break her neck. She stood there for a moment, studying the hub, in its full glory. It was empty, no living thing in it. She sighed.
She murmured, walking towards her desk. She couldn’t see anyone but that didn’t mean no one was there. She had her earpiece in, but it was quiet. She hadn’t got a text from Jack telling her something had happened. It was oddly quiet. Quiet was always odd for the Torchwood hub, which was always noisy, even when there was only one person, as the dino creature would normally be there, but it wasn’t today. Carlie sighed again as she sat down.
“Too early.”
