Kastiel sprinted around the corner, coat fluttering about him for a moment as through, had it been a tiny bit longer, it would have threatened to trip the Watcher. As it is the kicked up dust from his running feet caused dust and the like to settle upon his favourite jacket. He did what he could to ignore this and the slight throbbing of a stitch starting up in his stomach as he finished to corner and let out a groan, pausing for a moment, and then putting on an extra burst of speed. He had lost sight of his prey, and if the weevil turned another corner before he spotted it, all of his hard out running would have been for nothing. He grimaced as the burst of speed bit into his side. The horrible thing about this was; he wasn’t yet sure how he would take down the weevil and bring it back to Torchwood head quarters. He hadn’t exactly planned a weevil hunt, but he stumbled across one chewing on some poor kid, and another kid, injured beside it, it had taken quick action to save both there lives.
Having no weapons on him, Kastiel had flipped out his spare battery for his phone and thrown it into the fire created by the kids in the rubbish bin – before they had been interrupted by a weevil, that was. As Kastiel had expected, the battery exploded with a loud noise, making the flames leap about a bit before settling. The sudden noise and light had been enough to startle the Weevil into taking off. He begged the kid was okay, and making a quick call the ambulance to deal with the kids he had taken after the rift-alien. To his horror, however, before he could get a call into Torchwood for some help his battery had died. What he would do right now for some of the high-frequency noise that these creatures hated.
With a soft cry at the end of another corner he realised he had found the weevil. They both stood in a dead end side-street now, and the weevil looked pissed. It lunged for him and Kastiel jumped to the side, pushing his foot sideways and tripping the creature up. He jumped forward in some thought of pinning it down and typing its hands up with the material strung through his coat (Normally use to tighten his coat when it was cold) He never got a chance to try it, the creature leaped up with surprising strength and throwing Kastiel with a cry to the ground. He jumped back to his feet but the creature was already taking off again. Rubbing his side for a moment, which was now bruised as well as in a stitch, the Torchwood recruit took after him.
The next surprise to worsen for Kas’s day, was finding that they had headed to a more populated area. A woman shrieked and ducked back into the house she was about to exit, and Kastiel knew he had to turn this creature to the less populated areas before to much attention was drawn to them. Scrambling a hand in the dirt well still running he managed to grab a stone (As well as a few new cuts) raising it he threw it to the metal pole just before the Weevil. The sudden noise, and the fact that it rebounded in his face, had him rethinking its route, and it twisted into an emptier alley.
Damit! If only his mobile was working, it looked like he needed a bit of a hand bringing down this Weevil...
